Motivation system - correct product descriptions

Software Engineer / Qualitätsmanagement
Synaxon AG (Bielefeld)

Overview

As a software engineer and quality manager, I worked on a project to develop a system that would allow users to mark incorrectly entered product or item descriptions in Synaxon as correct. The goal was to motivate users to correct or add item descriptions by rewarding their efforts, thus avoiding misinformation and providing a reliable basis for purchasing decisions.

The functionality of the system was presented in a web browser, using JSF for the user interface and JEE for backend development. To increase the efficiency of the system, parallel work of multiple users was ensured.

As part of my job, I designed, developed, and implemented the project’s motivation system to ensure that users were sufficiently rewarded and motivated to make the desired corrections. I was also responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the user interface, user management, and database to ensure that the system ran smoothly and met the needs of the users.

An important part of my role in the project was also quality management to ensure that the system was robust and reliable, and that changes could be evaluated by other users to confirm their accuracy.

We used iterative and incremental methods to develop the system in small increments to ensure that it met user requirements. We also used pair programming to improve the efficiency and quality of the work.

Overall, it was an exciting project to which I was able to make an important contribution as a software engineer and quality manager.
